A new breathable and thermal comfort filter medium has been developed that consists of electret polyethersulfone/barium titanate nanofibrous membrane integrated on a nonwoven polypropylene substrate, effective for protecting against airborne particular matter pollution.
Barium titanate itself is an organic ferroelectric ceramic chemical compound with piezoelectric characteristics, available in white powder form.
It’s made by heating titanium dioxide and barium carbonate, with single crystals produced at approximately 1,100 degrees C from molten potassium fluoride. These crystals can exist in five different phases, from low to high temperature, and ferroelectric properties are displayed in all phases except the cubic phase.
It has many uses, such as capacitors as a dielectric ceramic material, an electrical insulator,a piezoelectric material in microphones and other transducers. Powder of high purity can be used to manufacture barium titanate capacitor energy systems for use in electric vehicles.
